Can you drink alcohol with Levitra?

4 min read · Reviewed

Alcohol can add a standing-pressure drop when it sits next to vardenafil. It can also blunt the erection you came for. A volunteer pour of 0.5 g/kg with 20 mg did not change plasma levels. That 4-hour watch was a lab amount, not a night out. Do not invent a five-drink cartoon.

01Can the drink stall the erection even if the tablet is on board?

Yes. Enough alcohol can make sexual stimulation a weaker trigger. The tablet still needs that trigger. A slow night after drinks is often the alcohol, not a dead 10 mg start. PDE5 inhibition cannot invent nitric oxide that never arrived. A high-fat plate delays the rise; a heavy pour can cancel the attempt.

The 60-minute start assumes you can still attempt. A heavy pour can take that attempt away. Waiting until the next calendar day is cleaner than stacking a second tablet.

02Does a drink change how much vardenafil is in the blood?

Alcohol at 0.5 g/kg - about 40 mL of absolute alcohol in a 70 kg person - and vardenafil levels were not altered when they were dosed together. The tablet's plasma curve did not shift in that pairing. Alcohol levels did not shift either. That pour is about 40 mL of absolute alcohol in a 70 kg body, not a night of mixed drinks.

Unchanged levels are not the same as a safe night of drinks. They only say the assay did not move. The pairing used 20 mg, not the 10 mg start on this shelf.

03What should you skip instead of counting units?

Skip the game of matching beers to milligrams. If you already feel the drink, wait for another calendar day to take the tablet. Once per day still applies when you do swallow. A higher tablet is not an alcohol antidote. Alpha-blockers plus drinks plus vardenafil is a worse standing-pressure stack.

Nitrates remain a hard stop whether anyone drank. Alcohol does not punch a hole in that contraindication. A popper is still a nitrate, even on a night that also has beer.

04Does 10 mg get a different drink rule than 20 mg?

The labelled pairing used 20 mg. This shelf starts at 10 mg. Neither strength comes with a unit count. Do not import a five-drink example from another leaflet. Unchanged plasma levels at 0.5 g/kg do not become a taller stack at 10 mg. Nifedipine plus LEVITRA 20 mg added a mean 6/5 mm Hg extra drop in men whose pressure was already treated.

The vardenafil shelf does not publish a safe glass number. Standing symptoms are the home check, not a unit cartoon.

05Why does standing still feel like the real risk at home?

Alcohol itself can drop standing pressure. Vardenafil is a vasodilator. Together they can stack dizziness when you stand. The volunteer line does not erase that home picture. Healthy men already dropped a mean 7 mm Hg systolic and 8 mm Hg diastolic on the tablet alone. Volume depletion makes that stack larger.

If the room tilts after a few drinks and a tablet, sit down. Do not treat that as a food delay. Postural symptoms are also the caution next to alpha-blockers, so a night that mixes both is a worse stack.

06What happened to blood pressure in that 20 mg pairing?

LEVITRA 20 mg did not potentiate the hypotensive effect of that 0.5 g/kg drink during a 4-hour watch in healthy volunteers. That sentence is narrow. It names one pour, one dose, four hours, healthy men. It was not a study in men with coronary disease or an alpha-blocker already on board. It also was not a 10 mg study.

It is not a licence to match drinks to milligrams. The 10 mg start on this shelf never got its own drink study.

Before you start, stop, or change any medicine, speak with your prescriber or pharmacist. They hold your chart. This bin card does not. Open the bin disclaimer.

Beau asks

One beer with 10 mg. Is that the 0.5 g/kg study?

No. The study used 0.5 g/kg with 20 mg in volunteers and watched four hours. A single beer is a smaller pour and a different night. Standing pressure is still the thing to notice. The tablet alone already dropped mean supine pressure 7/8 mm Hg in healthy men.

Earl asks

A pamphlet I saw counted five drinks. Does Levitra print that?

Levitra's labelled drink is the 0.5 g/kg pairing with 20 mg. This page will not invent a five-drink cartoon. Count how you feel standing. Plasma levels of the tablet and of alcohol did not shift in that pairing. About 40 mL of absolute alcohol in a 70 kg person is the pour they used.

Hank asks

If I already drank, should I take 20 mg to push through?

No. A higher tablet is not an alcohol antidote. Skip the swallow if you are already unsteady. Tomorrow is still one tablet. Twenty milligrams plus a bar tab is not the 0.5 g/kg volunteer pour. Stimulation still has to happen if you wait and take it tomorrow.
